Version 1.40 Enhancements
Custom field values can now sync from HubSpot back into Cliniko patient custom fields, controlled by a new integration setting for accounts with the custom-fields mapping add-on.
HubSpot → Cliniko Custom Fields Sync
Feature Overview
Version 1.40 of CRMConnect introduces the reverse direction for custom fields: HubSpot contact custom property values can now be pushed into Cliniko patient custom fields. This complements the existing Cliniko → HubSpot custom-fields sync, so each custom field can be kept in sync from its system of origin — fields your team fills in HubSpot flow into the patient record in Cliniko, while fields captured in Cliniko continue to flow into HubSpot.
Note: This feature is part of the custom-fields mapping add-on and requires an add-on subscription — it is not a built-in feature of the standard integration. Without the add-on, the "Update Cliniko patient" and "Update Cliniko contact" syncs support the basic fields only (name, phone, address, email, date of birth, referral source, etc.). With the add-on, APIANT configures your custom field mappings from your agreed field mapping sheet, and this new direction becomes available.
How It Works
When a contact is pushed from HubSpot to Cliniko (the Update Cliniko patient flag on the contact), CRMConnect now also writes your mapped HubSpot custom property values into the matching Cliniko patient custom fields — all mapped fields in a single update to the patient:
- Single-line and multi-line text properties sync as-is
- Dropdown select properties sync to Cliniko single-choice (radio button) fields
- Multiple checkboxes properties sync to Cliniko checkbox fields, with each selected option ticked
- Empty HubSpot values are skipped — the sync never clears a value already stored in Cliniko
One new integration setting controls this feature:
Update_HubSpot_properties_in_Cliniko Enables the HubSpot → Cliniko custom-fields push for accounts subscribed to the custom-fields mapping add-on. When set to true, every contact push to Cliniko also updates the mapped custom fields on the patient. Defaults to false.
Note that option labels must match exactly between the HubSpot property and the Cliniko field — including capitalization and punctuation. If a value doesn't match one of the Cliniko field's options, the sync reports an error listing the allowed options rather than writing an incorrect value.
Why Use This
If your team captures or maintains patient-related information in HubSpot — through forms, sales conversations, or admin updates — this feature helps:
- Keep the Cliniko patient record complete without re-typing data captured in HubSpot
- Give practitioners visibility of intake and marketing details inside Cliniko
- Maintain true two-way custom-field coverage, with each field synced from its system of origin
