This guide provides a solution for selling Mindbody gift cards through Shopify, by using ShopConnect as a bridge. The process involves creating gift card products in Mindbody, which are then synchronized with Shopify, allowing customers to purchase them as if they were Shopify gift cards. These purchases will be reflected in Mindbody, where you can manually issue the actual gift cards.
Please take note that the synchronization of actual gift cards between Mindbody and Shopify is not supported by ShopConnect. For further details, refer to this support article on this subject. Follow these steps to set up and manage this workaround effectively:
- Product Creation in Mindbody (MBO):
- Choose a name for the gift card product, like "In-store gift card."
- Set up size variants to offer different amounts, such as $10, $20, $30, etc.
- Synchronization with Shopify:
- Please keep in mind that it may take up to 15 minutes for a product to update from Mindbody to Shopify.
- Once synced, enhance the product images and descriptions in Shopify. Clearly state that these are in-store gift cards.
- Sales and Notification Setup:
- Ensure your Shopify sales notifications are active to be alerted when an in-store gift card is purchased.
- Monitor these sales to initiate the manual gift card creation in Mindbody.
- Manual Gift Card Issuance:
- Confirm the sale in the customer’s Mindbody account.
- Manually create a Mindbody gift card for the customer, crediting them the amount purchased through Shopify.
- Customer Notification:
- Inform the customer about their new in-store gift card details, completing the purchase loop.
