Features that are not supported in ShopConnect
Please be advised that at this time, gift cards from Shopify to Mindbody and Mindbody to Shopify are not synchronized. If you have set up gift cards in your Shopify store, please note that they can only be utilized for purchases within the Shopify store. However, if you have a Shopify point of sale set up in your studio, they can be redeemed through the point of sale system. Whenever a sale is made from Shopify to Mindbody, the transaction will be labeled with the "Shopify" payment method, allowing for easy identification of sales originating from Shopify.
Likewise, any Mindbody gift cards that are utilized can only be used within the Mindbody platform. If you opt to transfer your sales from Mindbody to Shopify, the sale will be marked with a "Mindbody" tag in the Shopify orders to inform you of its source.
It is crucial to understand that Shopify gift cards can only be used for Shopify sales, while Mindbody gift cards can only be used for Mindbody sales. In the event of a refund in Shopify, it will not automatically process in Mindbody. To void the sale from the client's Mindbody account, you will need to manually perform the void in Mindbody.
In conclusion, if you utilize gift cards in both your Shopify and Mindbody stores, please bear in mind that they are platform-specific and cannot be utilized interchangeably. By acknowledging these limitations, you can ensure that your sales are accurately processed on both platforms.
Refunds on either Shopify or Mindbody are not supported. If a refund is performed in Shopify, the transaction is not sent to Mindbody. After performing the refund in Shopify, you will need to manually do a refund in the Mindbody software for the same client. This will deactivate any active pricing options and return any retail product back to inventory. If a refund is performed in Mindbody, the transaction is not sent to Shopify and inventory-related items would need to be manually updated in Shopify to ensure the correct inventory matches Mindbody.
To replicate this feature in Shopify, you can achieve it by creating what is known as a "collection" in the Shopify platform. Here is a link to the Shopify help center explaining Collections. Once you have successfully created the collection, you can proceed to add your synchronized products or services to the collection. When a customer purchases the collection in Shopify, the line items within the Shopify order will be sold and processed directly into the client's account in Mindbody.

In the current setup, it's not feasible to directly assign a 'Commission Recipient' to a sale within Mindbody due to limitations in Mindbody's API. However, a workaround is available. After a sale is completed and posted, you can manually update the sale in Mindbody to assign the Commission Recipient to the respective Mindbody order. This process needs to be done within the Mindbody platform.
