Guide to manually syncing Inventory with Mindbody Products with Shopify Products

2min

IMPORTANT: This process is separate that runs daily for inventory sync when inventory has been updated manually in Mindbody.

Please note, that updating the inventory manually on a product in Mindbody will not trigger an automatic update to Shopify. The Mindbody API does not send a webhook when the inventory is manually updated. This is the reason why ShopConnect is designed to update daily to check for any products that have had a manual inventory update in Mindbody and then push those updates to Shopify.

There is one exception to this rule. When a new product is created or an update is made to a Mindbody product that is synced, the inventory in the product is then considered and can be updated. In order for this to work you will need to make sure the ShopConnect settings for "Don't update inventory on product sync" are disabled.

For example, if you create a new product and add inventory while you are in the process of creating the product prior to saving it for the first time, the inventory will be transferred along with the product to Shopify. However, if the new product is created and saved first, and then inventory is added afterward, Mindbody does not recognize this as a product update, and therefore the inventory will only be updated during the daily inventory sync.

If you need to trigger a manual update of the inventory, you can make a change to the product in Mindbody. Any change to the title, price, or description will trigger an update.

For example, you can simply add any character to the description in Mindbody, such as a period ".", and then save the changes. This will trigger an update status from Mindbody, and the API will consider the product, including the inventory, and sync it to Shopify.

Please note, that any modifications made to the description in Mindbody won't be synced to Shopify if the "Sync product description" option in your ShopConnect settings is turned OFF. If, however, it's turned ON, you may want to consider undoing the changes in the Mindbody product once your inventory is updated. Keep in mind that altering the description in Mindbody is primarily a trigger to initiate the update."

To force an inventory update on a single product, open the product in Mindbody, update the inventory, add a single character to the product description, and click save.

Please keep in mind that it may take up to 15 minutes for a product to update from Mindbody to Shopify.
