Assembly development cycle

4min

The system supports a development cycle for assemblies where assembly developers can submit their work to accounts having the "Assembly Reviewer" permission, then receive feedback from the reviewers.

Assembly developers can request a review of their assembly changes with the Request Review option under the Developer menu:

The Request Review option only appears if the current account does not have the "Assembly Reviewer" permission.

This link will open a dialog where the developer can first supply any comments to send to the reviewer:

Upon clicking OK, the system will send a review request email to all active accounts having the "Assembly Reviewer" permission.

The email sent to reviewers looks like this:

Reviewers must open the assembly with the link in the email, which causes the editor to go into an assembly review mode.

Reviewers can make any needed annotations in the assembly via the Annotation module to provide feedback:

If annotations are added, the reviewer must then save the assembly.

When the reviewer is done, they should use the Send Feedback option in the Developer menu to send their feedback to the assembly's developer.

Enter feedback and click OK:

The developer will receive an email with the feedback and a link to open the assembly so they can review any annotations if needed.
